Most of our plug-ins are able to run successfully while using OSX 10.5.2.

If you are currently experiencing issues while using our plug-ins please update your OSX from 10.5 to 10.5.2; we have found in many cases this will solve your issue.

Q: I have not received my serial number, where is it?

Serial number(s) are sent to the e-mail address you provide at checkout (Download orders only). To ensure a safe delivery of this message please read the following:

Q: I just downloaded a .SIT &/or .ZIP file, now what?

1.	To open .Sit or .Zip files you must have compression software installed on your system.
		Download: The Unarchiver
		Download: StuffIt Expander
		Download: WinZip
2.	After installing compression software, extract the file contents and use the provided installer for installation.

Q: Can I have my serial number re-sent?

			Serial number look up is available to customers who purchased a Download directly from Red Giant Software. For retrieval you'll need your Red Giant order number and/or the email address you used in the order.

Installation

Q: How do I install KLF 2.5 for AE CS3? [Mac only]

If KLF 2.5 was installed prior to this update, then you must uninstall that version before installing this AE 8 compatible version.
			Note: No update is needed for Windows users.

1.	To uninstall KLF 2.5 After Effects 7 version from After Effects 8
			Used the KLF 2.5 AE 7 installer for installation into AE 8.







2.	Install KLF 2.5.1 After Effects 8 version.
		During installation you must select the After Effects 8 installer.

Q: How do I uninstall Knoll Light Factory v2.5 from Final Cut Pro?

Our Mac version does not come an uninstall button or executable based process. Instead you drag and drop the relevant folders and files to the trash.
	How to uninstall Knoll Light Factory v2.5 from Final Cut Pro.
	1.	Go to following path on your Mac hard drive
			MacHD > Library > Application Support > Final Cut Pro System Support > Plugins
	2.	Drag the following folder/files into your trash:
			Knoll Custom Lenses Knoll Light Factory EZ.plugin Knoll Light Factory.plugin

Using the product

Q: What is your render policy? How do I get the render version?

Knoll Light Factory has an "Unlimited Render" policy, meaning you can install as many "Render Only" versions on your farm as needed.

Knoll Light Factory 2.5's installer comes with 2 options in the installation process [see picture below]. Just check the "Render Only" box and install on your Render Farm nodes.

Q: How do you access all flares in KLF for Photoshop?

After you install Knoll Light Factory for Photoshop:
	1.	Open Photoshop
	2.	Apply Knoll Light Factory
	3.	Clicking Flare Style will open the Lens Editor window.
	4.	Click Load.
	5.	From the following path choose a KLF flare and Click Open (location will be saved in the Lens Editor).
			Mac: MacHD>Applications>Adobe Photoshop>Plug-Ins>Adobe Photoshop Only>Plug-Ins>Knoll Light Factory 2>custom lenses>

Q: Do you support Avid Express Pro 5.6?

We currently support Avid Express Pro 5.5.
	Our products will be updated to run on Avid's Express Pro 5.6.
		An update is expected to be available during the 4th quarter 2007.

Q: Do you support Avid Media Composer 2.7?

We currently support Avid Media Composer 2.6
	Our products will be updated to run on Avid's Media Composer 2.7.
		An update is expected to be available during the 4th quarter 2007.

Known Issues

Q: Flares on large images can show considerable banding. What is the best way to work with a large image?

Apply Knoll Light Factory to a smaller sized black solid, then scale the entire image up to the desired size, and either use unmult or screen transfer mode to composite on top of the larger image. For example, to apply a flare to a 4096 x 4096 image:
	1.	Make a new 1024 x 1024 black solid.
	2.	Apply Knoll Light Factory flare to the black solid.
	3.	Scale the solid with the flare up by 4x using the highest quality scale available.
	4.	Overlay the scaled solid on top of the 4k image
	5.	Use either Unmult or the Screen transfer mode to composite the two images.

		Result: A higher quality flare than if you had simply applied it directly to the larger 4k image.

	If you are receiving the above error messages after installing Magic Bullet Frames, please do the following:
1.	Quit all programs including After Effects.

2.	Uninstall Magic Bullet Frames from START MENU.
		Only uninstall the After Effects installation and not the Premiere Pro installation (if applicable).

3.	Re-run the Magic Bullet Frames After Effects installer.

4.	During installation change your DESTINATION DIRECTORY to the following:

If you purchased Magic Bullet Suite 2007 & your serial number for Magic Bullet Frames is not valid (cannot click done button), please fill out a support request and provide us with ALL of the following information. Before filling out a support request double check that you are entering the correct serial number exactly as when it was given to you.

	2.	First/Last name on order.
	3.	E-mail address used in your order.
	4.	Date of purchase.
	5.	Current Magic Bullet Frames serial number.

If you need assistance on how to enter your serial number, please see below.

	A) During installation you may either install the Trial version or enter your Serial Number to activate your purchased product.

	B) Or after installation you may also serialize by doing the following: Apply your Plug-in to a comp and find the OPTIONS button at the top within the Effects Controls
	Once you have pressed the OPTIONS button a dialogue box will appear
	Within the dialogue box you can serialize your product with your purchased serial number.
